To celebrate its 10-year anniversary, the always enticing JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa (map it) is offering room rates as if it were its opening day.  The 10 Years of Excellence Package invites guests to stay overnight in a deluxe guestroom with a whirlpool bathtub, separate showers with oversized brass raindrop showerheads and the luxe Marriott bedding package. A $40 food credit for Ceres restaurant, J.C. Wooloughan Irish Pub, the Waterside Café or through room service fills the tummy, while a $50 discount on any Aquae Sulis Spa treatment makes it toned, again. Complimentary spa passage for two invites couples to use the float pools, waterfall showers, the outdoor hydrotherapy circuit pool (I love this!), state-of-the-art fitness center and daily exercise classes.

Available to Nevada residents through September 1, 2009, the 10 Years of Excellence Package is $159.10 per night, based on double occupancy.

The resort is offering a special giveaway in honor of its anniversary.  “We are very excited to be celebrating the resort’s 10^th anniversary and JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa is giving our neighbors and guests a chance to win a fabulous weekend stay by stopping at the front desk and filling out a ballot during the month of July,” said General Manager Jim Rose. “The Anniversary Prize Package includes a two-night stay in a deluxe room, 2 50-minute spa treatments, dinner at Ceres or Shizen, golf for two at TPC Las Vegas and a private pool cabana for the day. The total package is valued at over $1010 and the gift certificate will be valid for one year from time of issue.”

In addition to the special room packages, JW Marriott Las Vegas is rolling out other amazing discounts available the month of July with the mention of the ten year anniversary (cannot be combined with any other offers) to include:

• As the first authentic Irish pub in Las Vegas, J.C. Wooloughan invites guests to stop in for “$5 Max Happy Hour” from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily. All appetizers, premium draft beer and select martinis and cocktails are $5, along with two domestic beers for $5.
• Ceres Restaurant is toasting the resort all month with complimentary breakfast mimosas (one per person).
• The Hot Stone Massage was a signature treatment at Aquae Sulis Spa in 1999 and is still very popular with spa goers today. To celebrate the 10 year anniversary, a 50 minute Hot Stone Massage is priced at $110.
• Aquae Sulis Salon offers a $10 discount on all cuts and styles, in honor of that sought after 90’s hairstyle, “The Rachel.”

Get out of town for the 4^TH ANNUAL AMARGOSA DAYS map it.  This two-day event offers a competitive chili cook-off, the chance to leave your friends and neighbors in the dust in a 2k and 5k run and, of course, a night of lively  fiddling under the vast stars of the Amargosa desert. There are also equestrian events, a BBQ, a dance and fireworks.  The kids can enjoy a water slide, face painting and a petting zoo.
