    Beer and Blog, 2/26/2009

Let’s get together, have a beer, network with other bloggers/social media users, and share information.  It’s great to have friends with similar interests!

A number of our “Council of Elder Drunks” are out of town, sick, busy…or all of the above tonight.  We’re determined to drink our share–and theirs–tonight anyway!  Do your part!

The next Beer & Blog will be held Thursday, February 26, at the Freakin Frog bar at 4700 S Maryland Pkwy, across from UNLV. The official start time is 6 PM but some people arrive as early as 5 PM for happy hour 2-for-1 specials on selected beers.

Please leave a comment here or tweet @michaelwilder if you’re coming (RSVP is not required to attend, but a head count helps Freakin Frog plan their staffing).

  • Menopause The Musical – Las Vegas Show

Posted on February 24th, 2009 LVE No comments

Menopause The Musical has been making headlines since 2001. Touring from coast to coast this show has been entertaining women for some time now. This show is a 90 minute skit which takes place in a department store and shows the depiction of the rise of the women from the 1960’s up to present time. If you and your girl friends are looking for things to do in Las Vegas the show is great.

When four women in a department show trying on lingerie meet each other during a lingerie sale this all female cast goes through everything from hot flashes to night sweats and chocolate binges. These women who had nothing in common come together to form a sisterhood and realize that going through menopause is perfectly normal. Menopause The Musical has been seen in over 250 cities across the US and numerous other countries including the United Kingdom and South Africa. The show donates part of its proceeds to ovarian cancer research and on its 2005-2006 tour they had successfully raised $500,000 for ovarian cancer research. if you are thinking about visiting this show look for tickets in advance as many shows are already sold out.

    Location:
    Shimmer Cabaret
    Las Vegas Hilton
    3000 S. Paradise Rd.

  • Chester the Molester Goes on Trial

Posted on February 23rd, 2009 LVE No comments
    chester stiles arrested
Chester Stiles is in court today, facing the charges of child molestation leveled against him in late 2007. Stiles who I dubbed Chester the Molester is facing 22 counts of sexual assault of a minor and lewdness with a minor. Stiles videotaped himself having sex with a 2 year old girl that testified today. The courage this young girl has is amazing.

Thankfully, it looks like Chester will be spending more time in prison. Deptuy District Attorney Mary Kay Holthus produced letters from Stiles stating he is a pedophile. The letters were written to his ex-girlfriends and son.

During opening statements, Deputy District Attorney Mary Kay Holthus quoted extensively from letters Stiles had written to his son and ex-girlfriends where he freely admitted that he’s a pedophile. Those letters plus the video tape should guarantee that this predator is locked up.

Stiles was caught in a routine traffic stop in Henderson. Way to go HPD!

Want to know one of the cool benefits of producing a live video stream show?  Well, besides the realtime feedback, and the excitement of performing in front of a live audience, it has added to our “Friends of LiLV” page.

At the end of our live show, we had a bit of a Q & A session and the subject of our “Friends” photo page came up.  Come to find out, several folks who had thought they had sent a photo either forgot to do so. . .or the photo got swiped by e-gremlins.  Either way, as a result, we’ve just received a couple more pics to the page.

Welcome to The Nugents (Brandon & Darcy + kids. . .no Reverend Ted Nugent in attendance) and Rob & Lois.  California and Michigan should be proud of such excellent representation!

Are YOU on our Friends page?  It’s easy!  Just attach a photo of yourself to an email and send it to friends [at] livinginlv.com.  Many groovy things will come your way if you do so!

Posted on February 13th, 2009 LVE No comments

A few hours ago, Thelma stopped by to check out our website for this Sunday’s LIVE STREAMING VIDEO.  I happen to be testing the chat function at the time so Thelma and I got our chat on.  Come to find out, Thelma has been listening to the Living in Las Vegas Podcast for several years now, having found us on iTunes.  When I asked if she’d sent a photo to our Friends of the LiLV Podcast page, she said she needed to send one. . .and then did.

Thelma sent us a photo of she and her husband Jeremy enjoying their honeymoon last summer while in the Grand Caymans.  Looks like they were having a good time!

    Thanks, Thelma and Jeremy!

(By the way, have you added your friends photo?)
